Dan McLaughlin - While living in Lake Tahoe, my wife, Patty and I took a trip to North Idaho. As i crossed the Long Bridge into Sandpoint, I immediately felt that this area would be wonderful for us, as we have always been drawn to natural beauty and recreational opportunities. Over the next couple of years, we sold our insurance business, put things in order and took off on a 12 month journey with our three kids. We came "home" to Sandpoint. The small town, artsy, comfortable lifestyle unending beauty and, most of all, the friendly people still intrigue us. Once we settled in, our family pursued our interests - horses, skiing, hiking, boating, camping and school sports. We established Panhandle Realty 17 years ago and later merged to become Panhandle Kaniksu Real Estate - the No. 1 sales office in our area at that time. Tomlinson Black recruited our office, and my business partner, Debbie Ferguson, and I decided to build a sales team. We recently expanded our team, and it works great. We have set new records and continue to work toward total customer satisfaction. Now that our kids are grown, Patty and I spend time enjoying our grandchildren and getting them acquainted with all that is here. The longer we're here, the more we love it!

Debbie Ferguson - My parents sold their ski area in California and set out on a mission to find my husband, Tim, and I a new place to start a family, ski and play. They called from a place called Sandpoint, Idaho. We packed our skis and kayaks into our truck (yes everything fit into one vehicle) and moved from Jackson Hole, Wyoming, to this unseen place in Northern Idaho. The rest is history. Since 1970 Sandpoint has been our home. We have two daughters and on granddaughter. After finishing college, the girls moved to Portland, Oregon. I truly believe this community helped raise them providing them an environment of healthy activities, small-town support and safety. Since my arrival I have been fully immersed in the Sandpoint community. Once we had children, my primary focus changed from skiing to schools and economic development. I have served as PTA president, school board trustee, State of Idaho Professional Standards Commission member, executive director of the area economic development organization, office manager for the Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce, chairman of the Human Rights Coalition and so many other committees I do not even remember. Real Estate has been my focus since 1991. I came here sight unseen and, for more than three decades now, have chosen this beautiful place to be my home.

Jennifer Austin - Sandpoint has been my home for almost my entire life and I wouldn’t change that for the world. Growing up here was the best thing my parents ever did for me. After graduating from Sandpoint High School I attended North Idaho College to obtain a nursing degree. While going to school and holding a full time job at a real estate office, I found that what I really enjoyed doing was right under my nose. I was introduced to Dan and Debbie (and the rest of the team) in the beginning of 2004 and started working for 6 agents as their full time licensed assistant. More recently I was offered to work exclusively for Dan and Debbie as their buyer’s agent and part time assistant. Working for them has been fun and an extraordinary learning experience. I only hope that I will have the strength and knowledge to someday follow in their foot steps..
